Hi, I’m Daniel Sofia, Managing Director of Sydney Gazebo & Bali Huts.
For 20 years I worked in the construction industry as a licensed carpenter, specialising in installation. But my passion for building and restoring started long before then.
I grew up watching my grandfather handcraft furniture from timber. He was a self-taught carpenter and joiner and I was always fascinated to see what he would create. That is where my passion for developing quality handcrafted structures stemmed.
After many years of working for others, I discovered there was something lacking and I needed a new challenge.
I started Sydney Gazebo & Bali Huts not just because I needed to take on a new challenge but because I felt the market deserved better quality products, improved customer service and better standards for the installation process.
As owners of the business, we also work in the business
That is how we keep the culture of our business healthy. So if I’m not in the office talking to customers, you will find me on site and on the tools or in our manufacturing department reviewing and improving our processes and systems.
We continually evaluate what we do and how we do it to make sure our business runs efficiently and to ensure quality is always maintained.

Daniel Sofia
Founder
Daniel’s more than 20 years’ experience in carpentry and building shows in the quality of work he produces. He is always striving to achieve the results his customers expect and deserve, and won’t leave a project until the customer is totally satisfied. Daniel knows how to get the best out of your yard space.
Dan
Chippy
After discovering that being cooped up in an office all day wasn’t for him, Dan was ready for a career change and he set out to complete his Certificate 3 in Carpentry and Construction. Dan enjoys nothing more than bringing a project to life from start to completion, and he receives great satisfaction from seeing how happy our customers are at the end.
Brendan
The apprentice
Brendan is a real go getter with a positive ‘have a go’ attitude. He is also a quick learner and has a real passion for timber and working on the tools – most likely inspired by his grandpa who he calls a role model.
